I am one for inclusion and encouraging all children to be friends despite their differences. We all have something about us that is “quirky”. This makes us unique. In the episode, Arthur’s friend George meets a boy named Carl in the library who comes off a bit strange. Carl has specific interests such as trains and puzzles. Carl also has Asperger’s.
We see Carl engage in stimming when he meets George’s puppet. Carl’s Mom is nearby and is able to help him calm down. George however is not bothered by Carl’s actions. In fact, when he sees Carl again, he brings him a book about trains!
George is that friend!
